Award of Honor

Hardeman Kempton & Associates, Inc.(HKA) has received the 2011 Award of Honor by the Florida Native Plant Society for the native landscape design at Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park. HKA provided landscape architectural, civil engineering, and arboriculture services as the prime consultant and lead designer. One of the best parks in downtown Tampa because of its location and amenities, Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park lies between the Tampa Times Forum and the Hillsborough River with key amenities including Heroes Plaza designated to pay homage to those who have served in the U.S. armed forces and those fallen in local civil positions, as well as a memorial to those lost in the Seminole Wars of Florida. This award-winning 4.5 acre park also includes two playground areas, a river promenade, shoreline restoration, river overlook pier, canoe launch, interpretive signage, and infrastructure for large events.
